Immortelle will work wonders if you’re worried about scarring.  The first bottle I received, I gave to a neighbor with the feeling that it would help.  Her 17 month old son was severely burned by hot oil falling from the stove onto his head, arms and feet.  He may never grow hair again and there will be some scarring, but she was amazed at how quickly the Immortelle worked to heal the skin and reduce the scarring over such a large area.  They used it every day mixed in with lotion and even the doctors are amazed at how quickly he is healing after his skin grafts.   –Kristi

My medical team has been very, very impressed with my progress both in terms of recovery from surgery/wound healing (using Immortelle and frankincense topically on the surgery sites) and in terms of getting through chemotherapy. I am very grateful that I was introduced to doterra just months before I was diagnosed with cancer. I had two rounds of surgery as the cancer had spread and I used the oils, especially the Immortelle as a treatment for the surgical site and a massage oil for the arm that may be affected by lymphedema in the future. –Kery

I had a ton of sun spots all over my face. I applied on my biggest sun spot for 2 weeks every morning & night and it is completely gone!!!!! Love this product!!!!!!!! –Adrienne

I had surgery on my right elbow in December.  Two weeks out I started occupational therapy.  However, I started using Lavender neat within about 3 days.  The therapist was going to just use Jergens lotion with Vitamin E.  I told her not to, that I would bring my own oils in.  In one of the roller bottles I mixed Vitamin E (I poked a hole in the end of 6 of the little caplets and squeezed out the oil), 6 drops of Helichrysum, 5 drops of Frankincense, and 4 drops of Lavender, and filled the bottle up with the Fractionated Coconut Oil.  Toward the end of the therapy I backed off of the Frankincense and added lemongrass.  The therapy was twice a week for three months.  I also used Jojoba Oil and it worked really well!  It carried well and absorbed much quicker than the fractionated coconut oil.

I have my own testimonial to add.  About 15-18 years ago, I had an accident.  The skin below my left thumb down to my wrist was basically filleted and then burned.  There has always been scarring there.  I made a blend of Frankincense, Sandalwood, and Helichrysum in a virgin coconut oil as a carrier.  I made the blend for a spot of Basal Cell Carcinoma on the side of my nose.  I would apply the blend every morning and evening, I would then wipe the residue from my oily finger on the scar just as a way to wipe my finger, and then I didn’t feel like I was waisting the blend.  I always thought; “what can it hurt”?
My main purpose has always been for the Skin Cancer, but a few weeks ago, I noticed that when I moved my left hand certain ways, it felt different.  I looked at the scarred area and was shocked.  I hadn’t noticed the scar was almost gone.  I realized, that not only the scar was gone, but the stiffness from the badly scarred area was gone. It literally felt different!
I am so angry that I didn’t take a before and after picture, but it has made me a believer in essential oils properties for skin cell repair!   This new blend is going to be fantastic, and I am excited to use it, and for Wendy and I to share it with others.
By the way, the lesion on the side of my nose is gone too.

Patchouli : doTerra Essential Oil

Used for centuries in perfumes and fragrances, Patchouli is one of the more aromatic essential oils. Patchouli oil has an easily recognizable rich musky-sweet fragrance and is used widely in the perfume industry.

Patchouli is a species from the genus Pogostemon a bushy herb of the mint family, with erect stems, reaching two or three feet in height and bearing small pale-pink or white flowers. The plant is native to the tropical regions of Asia but is now extensively cultivated in China, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Philippines, West Africa and Vietnam.

During the 18th and 19th century silk traders from China traveling to the Middle East packed their silk cloth with dried patchouli leaves to prevent moths from laying their eggs on the cloth. Many historians speculate that this association with opulent eastern goods is why patchouli was considered by Europeans of that era to be a luxurious scent. It is said that patchouli was used in the linen chests of Queen Victoria in this way. Studies today suggest that patchouli essential oil may serve as an all-purpose insect repellent.

Patchouli essential oil is known to have a grounding, balancing effect on the emotions while providing excellent mood support. Patchouli is also widely used for wounds and tissue repair, as well as in skin care preparations for these same properties.

Product Tips:

  • To make your own wrinkle cream, add 10 drops of Patchouli, Myrrh, and Geranium to an unscented body lotion or massage oil.
  • For oily skin and hair add a few drops of Patchouli essential oil to your shampoo or facial cream.
  • Diffuse for a calming, soothing effect.
  • Add a few drops to your pets shampoo for a deodorizing effect.
  • As an anti-fungal, patchouli oil has been used to treat athlete’s foot. *Before going to bed put the following mixture on your feet for 7-10 days: Mix 2-3 drops of Patchouli, 3 drops Melaleuca, 3 drops Lavender. For advanced athlete’s foot, substitute Oregano for Melaleuca and add a tablespoon of coconut or olive oil*
