All Natural Help For Fatigue (Low Energy)

Fatigue is a feeling of weariness, tiredness, or lack of energy.

Fatigue is different from drowsiness. In general, drowsiness is feeling the need to sleep, while fatigue is a lack of energy and motivation. Drowsiness and apathy (a feeling of indifference or not caring about what happens) can be symptoms that go along with fatigue.

Fatigue can be a normal and important response to physical exertion, emotional stress, boredom, or lack of sleep. However, it can also be a nonspecific sign of a more serious psychological or physical disorder. When fatigue is not relieved by enough sleep, good nutrition, or a low-stress environment, it should be treated and possibly evaluated by your doctor. Fatigue is a common symptom, and is usually not due to a serious disease.

Some causes for fatigue are asthma, hay fever, anemia, depression, grief, persistent pain, sleep disorders, thyroid issues and drug or alcohol addiction.

This treatment has also been able to help those with CFS. Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a condition that starts with flu-like symptoms and lasts for 6 months or more (sometimes years). All other possible causes of fatigue are eliminated before this diagnosis is made. Most people with CFS do not get much relief from rest.

I know personally that due to my blood type (A+) that I don’t have enough sugar in my blood stream.. and I get tired quickly when  don’t have enough carbs or natural sugar in my diet…so I’m very grateful for the DoTerra essential oil alternative so I can eat healthier and still have the energy I need to be an active adult.

DoTerra Essential Oil Fatigue Treatment:

Take 6 drops of Slim & Sassy Oil Blend and 3 drops each of Peppermint Oil and Wild Orange Oil in a capsule daily

Rub 2-3 drops of  Citrus Bliss Oil Blends on bottoms of feet each morning

Take Life Long Vitality Vitamins daily

Additional Help:

Add 2-3 drops of Lemon Oil or Wild Orange Oil in 8 oz of water, 2-3 times a day

How Do You Feel Today?

Approximately 20.9 million American adults in a given year, have a mood disorder. This is also rising very quickly in children and teens as well. In fact pre-schoolers are the fastest-growing market for antidepressants. At least four percent of preschoolers are clinically depressed.

Many of us are feeling stuck in a rut with how we feel. It might be just for a short time–or for an extended period of time. Most of us will experience this, or know someone who will. Depression is usually marked by feelings of feelings of sadness, energy loss, feelings of worthlessness, irritability, sudden weight loss or gain, trouble sleeping or loss of interest in activities normally enjoyed.

Why do I feel this way?
This can be due to many factors. Things such as a chemical imbalance, side effects of medicines, genetics, illness, death, the economy, finances or abuse. However, even good events such as starting a new job, graduating, having a child, getting married or anything that involves a big life change can lead to depression as well. Recently I have talked with several people that struggle with seasonal depression also, which usually comes with the changing of the weather. No matter what the reason, it can sometimes be hard to get out of the rut we feel stuck in.

About 11 years ago, I went through a time when I didn’t want to get up in the morning. I couldn’t stay awake during school, at work, or at home–no matter how hard I tried. The second I would get home, I would get into bed and go straight to sleep. I didn’t want to talk to anyone or see anyone. I was in school then, and I went from being a 4.0 GPA student to a 2.1 GPA student in just a short time .

I didn’t care about anything but sleep. It was a really strange experience for me. I didn’t know why I was acting or feeling this way, but I was. I felt like I was in the bottom of a deep hole and I didn’t know how to get out. It was frustrating and scary. This is something that is common in our society, I hear stories like mine all the time.

What Essential Oils work well for Depression?
I am frequently asked while teaching, “what essential oils can help make an impact on our mood and how we feel?” People love using the oils because they don’t have the harmful side effects that many anti-depressants have.
Here are a few oils that might help. You can use one by itself–or you can use multiple oils together. Everybody has a different body chemistry and we all need something different–so don’t be afraid to figure out what oils work best for you!

These oils are uplifting and invigorating to the mind and body.
Citrus Bliss (invigorating blend), Balance (grounding blend-my personal favorite), Elevation ( Joyful Blend), Lemon , Frankincense, Bergamot, Wild Orange

These oils are uplifting to the mind and body, but are also calming and help with sleep as well. Lavender, and Serenity (calming blend)

A few ways we have found most beneficial to use these oils for Depression are:

  • Diffuse into the air, or put a few drops on hand and inhale. Breathing the oils in aromatically is one of the most powerful ways to change your mood
  • Rub 1-2 drops on forehead, temples, and back of neck
  • Add 1-3 drops in a warm bath
  • For help with sleep–diffuse in room before going to sleep, or rub 1-2 drops on bottom of feet
  • For supplements: take daily as reccomended on package
