DIY Pain Relief Lotion Bars

Pain Relief Lotion Bars

DIY Natural Pain Relief Lotion Bars Pain Relief Lotion Bars

modified recipe from

These are lotion bars – not soap – and are not intended for bathing use! Use these bars in the same way as a moisturizing / massage lotion – only they are solid. However, a little will melt to the touch, so the idea is that you apply them to the area you want to moisturize or treat.

These natural pain relief lotion bars smell excellent and work wonders on sore or tired muscles

  • 1/3 cup  coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup shea butter, cocoa butter or mango butter
  • 1/3 cup  beeswax (can add an extra ounce or two if you want a thicker consistency, which leaves less lotion on the skin when used)
  • 1 tablespoon of Menthol Crystals
  • 10 drops AromaTouch Massage Oil Blend  * (Blend of basil, grapefruit, cypress, marjoram, peppermint, and lavender)

How to Make:

Combine all ingredients in a quart size glass mason jar and carefully place this jar in a small saucepan of water on the stove.

Turn the burner on and bring water to a low simmer. Stir ingredients constantly until they are melted and smooth.

Remove from heat and stir in the menthol crystals and stir until dissolved.

Add AromaTouch Massage Oil Blend and stir until mixed.

Carefully pour into molds or whatever you will be allowing the lotion bars to harden in. I used these silicon loaf molds, though any mold would work.

Allow the lotion bars to cool completely before attempting to pop out of molds. These could be made in different shaped molds or made in a square baking pan and then cut into actual bars.

Note also that it’s essential to use the “double pan” technique when warming beeswax. Don’t be tempted to skip it. The outer pan contains water (which should be simmered but not boiled), the inner contains the beeswax and other ingredients. The reason for this is because it is very easy to overheat beeswax and make it start to burn – and the water controls the temperature that the beeswax is subjected to

How to Use:

Store in a cool or dry place for up to six months (I’ve even had some last as long as a year).

To apply to skin: hold bar in hand and carefully rub on dry skin. The heat of the skin will transfer some of the lotion bar to the skin. I store my lotion bars on a small plate on my dresser and bathroom counter. Add more or less menthol for a more or less potent bar.

All Natural Scleroderma Support

doTERRA Essential Oil Support For:

Scleroderma is a connective tissue disease that involves changes in the skin, blood vessels, muscles, and internal organs. It is a type of autoimmune disorder, a condition that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue.

The cause of scleroderma is unknown. People with this condition have a buildup of a substance called collagen in the skin and other organs. This buildup leads to the symptoms of the disease.

The disease usually affects people 30 to 50 years old. Women get scleroderma more often than men do.

Some types of scleroderma affect only the skin, while others affect the whole body.

  • Localized scleroderma usually affects only the skin on the hands and face. It develops slowly, and rarely, if ever, spreads throughout the body or causes serious complications.
  • Systemic scleroderma, or sclerosis, may affect large areas of skin and organs such as the heart, lungs, or kidneys. There are two main types of systemic scleroderma: Limited disease (CREST syndrome) and diffuse disease.

Skin problems of Scleroderma may include:

Fingers or toes that turn blue or white in response to hot and cold temperatures,  Hair loss,  Skin hardness, Skin that is abnormally dark or light, Skin thickening, stiffness-(tightness of fingers, hands, and forearm),   Sores (ulcers) on the fingertips or toes,  Tight and mask-like skin on the face

I keep it handy and use it whenever I feel a headache coming on. I have shared Past Tense with co-workers for back pain and pinched nerve pain. It is wonderful for all sorts of tense and/or achy muscles and joints. One of my co-workers said he’d like to buy it by the 50 gallon drum. -Thauna
This blend is smartly bottled in a roller to roll on temples and base of skull for headache pain and tension. It’s worked for me, and my customers say it works for them. Treating pain is one thing for which essential oils are generally very effective. -Jenni
Here is an interesting thing – my friend Cindi Byrd used her PAST TENSE ROLL ON for a cold sore and it worked to get rid of it!!! -Tony and Sharyl Yeisley
I was completely blown away by how amazing Past Tense is. I get headaches frequently and have always taken Motrin. Past Tense is so amazing I honestly go to that first. my daughter hasn’t been feeling well the last few days. she complained of having a headache so I ran to get my roll-on. she was happy not to have to take a pill & I was happy not to be giving her a pill. this is a must have for every home & medicine cabinet! – Tara
So, I just want to give a shout out to Past Tense. A doTERRA roll-on blend that is amazing! I had a headache the other night and honestly, I don’t get many headaches but this one was a bad one. I got out my trusty oils and decided to try the Past Tense. I rolled it on my forehead, tempals (staying out of my eyes!!), and the back of my neck, the headache went away. It was great! The only thing was that 15 minutes later, I could feel the headache coming back. This is exactly when I know I need to use “the power of three”, ha ha ha… I apply the oil three times in one hour, every 20 minutes. If one application doesn’t work the first time to relieve my symptoms, usually this three application process does. Sometimes it takes more or less, but this usually works for me. Anyway, after the second application my headache was gone, never to return. Thank goodness! This also made me realize the reason for my headache. I was getting too wound up that day, too much going on in my head. That night I took a bath with bath salt made with doTERRA oils, that I of course made myself. I love that I can learn to control my stress and mood with using these amazing oils – Natalie

All Natural Healing Help For Broken Bones

DoTerra Essential Oil Treatment For:

Broken Bones

Broken Bone

Broken or fractured bones can occur anywhere in the body.  They can vary from simple greenstick fracture in a child requiring minimal care to crushing injuries involving multiple bones, tendons, and ligaments with complex displacements requiring intense surgery, plates, screws and months of physical therapy.  There are a number of types of fractures, we list here just a few of the common types:

·  Greenstick Fracture : Bone is not broken completely through the full diameter

·  Transverse Fracture : in this the fracture is at a right angle to the bone’s long axis.

·  Spiral Fracture : in this at least one part of the bone has been twisted.

·  Comminuted Fracture : in this the fracture results in several fragments.

·  Stress Fracture : It is a common overuse injury. It is most often seen in athletes who run and jump on hard surfaces such as runners, ballet dancers and basketball players.

·  Open Fracture : An open fracture is a fracture where the broken bone is exposed. That is dangerous because of increased chances of infection.

Signs that there is a fracture and medical attention should be sought include:

·  severe pain, especially with movement of the limb

·  swelling

·  if there is deformity in the limb or an open wound

·  if there is difficulty in moving the injured limb or numbness and tingling indicating nerve damage.

Essential oils of course cannot reposition or splint a fracture but they can hasten the healing process and reduce the discomfort during healing.

DoTerra Essential Oil Broken Bone Treatment:

Rub 3-4 drops of Deep Blue Oil Blend on injured area as needed for pain.

Topically apply 2-4 drops each of Cypress Oil (circulation), Helichrysum Oil (nerve damage, tissue regeneration), and White Fir (anti-inflammatory) to the injured area 2 to 3 times a day.

**If there is ligament or tendon damage add Lemongrass Oil, if there is muscle damage add Marjoram Oil**

Rub 2-3 drops of  Lavender Oil on bottoms of feet nightly-if possible- to aid in sleep (proper sleep will help the bones heal faster)

Additional Help:

Diffuse Balance or Serenity Oil Blend in the air to calm nerves.

Take 2-3 drops each of Clove Oil , Ginger Oil, and Oregano Oil  in a capsule daily for 10 days, 1x a day (this will avoid infection, however if you do this -also take a probiotic as the oregano oil will also kill the good bacteria)

Take Life Long Vitality Vitamins daily

My husband broke his toe.  He whimpered and hobbled around for a while and at the end of the day chose to show me his purplish-black swollen ugly toe.  I looked at him and shook my head as I asked why he hadn’t used any of the oils.  He replied, “OH YEAH!  I guess I could do that.”  He applied oils and within an hour remarked at how the pain was gone and how he should have used the oils immediately.  2 days later he ran a 10k without any problems

-Debbie Huckstep

I am so excited to be able to share this experience with you.  I have the “fire in the belly” feeling now when it comes to the oils,` and I will tell you why.  Three and one-half months ago I fell while exercising and broke my shoulder.  It was not just a “break”, but an avulsion fracture.  That meant that the muscles supporting the shoulder literally pulled the front bony part of the shoulder up (the fracture) from the force of the fall.  Needless to say, I lost the use of my arm within minutes.  After the hospital visit and x-rays, we came home to wait for the orthopedic surgeon to see me…in three days!!

We live in a small town. I was in shock and called my daughter-in-law to come help me know what to do.  I have gluten intolerance, so the gut issues make it hard to take pain meds.  Guess what I had to use?  That’s right ,the oils.  I thought, “This will be a real test.” We applied Balance, then lemongrass, then cypress.  When I say applied, it was like putting salt and pepper on food. Not just one or two drops, but we shook it on. Immediately I felt better.  I began to relax and spent the next few days layering the oils every two to three hours, my arm resting in a sling until the doctor was in.  When I got to the doctor’s office, he looked at the x-ray, came in and explained that he needed to do surgery to put a plate with six screws in to repair the damage so the muscles would reattach properly. I asked him what my other options were?  He said I could wear a sling (the kind you have to wear after surgery) for six weeks.  He would x-ray it every week, and if there was the slightest bit of movement, we then would do surgery.  I opted for that.

I used the oils frequently, according to how they smelled.  If one made me nauseous, I would use another.  I used wintergreen for pain, marjoram for muscle repair, lemongrass for ligaments, cypress for circulation, Balance for grounding and the emotions associated with not being able to use my arm.  I diffused frankincense,  Elevation, and Citrus Bliss to help me be upbeat.  I used Deep Blue for everything it can do.  I bathed in lavender and cypress.  And, the last two weeks I was able to get birch for bone.  The power from that single oil was amazing!  I added a few drops of helichrysum to the Deep Blue for tissue healing.

Every week I had an appointment with the doctor and every week he said next week we may do surgery, up until the fifth week.  At that visit he said, the bone is healed. Let me have your sling. I want you to start physical therapy. He then shook my hand and said I’m really glad we didn’t do surgery.  WOW!  I have my testimony, I have full use of my arm back and I have a fire in the belly about these amazing oils.  I cannot NOT share what I know and experienced and I challenge all of you to prove the oils for your own selves.
