I’m Dreaming of a WHITE…. Fir!

doTERRA Essential Oil

White Fir

White Fir is recognizable as the common Christmas tree

Derived from the soft needles of the tree, white fir is a favorite among essential oil users for its ability to relieve and soothe muscle aches and pains when applied topically.

Fir also increases poor circulation, is effective with genital and urinary infections, and reduces asthma and coughing.  It is also used as a disinfectant and decongestant.

Properties: Antiarthritic, antiseptic, expectorant, analgesic, anticatarrhal, and stimulant. (anti-inflammatory)

White Fir is an excellent direct topical massage oil, and is used often as a surface disinfectant.  White Fir diffused can be an airborne antiseptic and is antimicrobial.

  • Historical Oil Uses: White fir essential oil was used for fever, rheumatic and muscular pain, and respiratory complaints.

Possible Uses: White fir essential oil can help to fight airborne bacteria and germs, asthma, reduce pains from the flu and colds, arthritis, supporting the blood, bronchial obstructions, fevers, rheumatism, coughs, urinary tract infections and sinusitis.

  • Apply to reflex points and/or directly on area of concern.

All Natural Arthritis Treatment

DoTerra Essential Oil Treatment For:

Arthritis is inflammation of one or more joints. A joint is the area where two bones meet. There are over 100 different types of arthritis.

Arthritis involves the breakdown of cartilage. Cartilage normally protects a joint, allowing it to move smoothly. Cartilage also absorbs shock when pressure is placed on the joint, such as when you walk. Without the normal amount of cartilage, the bones rub together, causing pain, swelling (inflammation), and stiffness.

Joint inflammation may result from:

  • An autoimmune disease (the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue)
  • Broken bone
  • General “wear and tear” on joints
  • Infection, usually by bacteria or virus

Usually the joint inflammation goes away after the cause goes away or is treated. Sometimes it does not. When this happens, you have chronic arthritis. Arthritis may occur in men or women.

Arthritis causes joint pain, swelling, stiffness, and limited movement. Symptoms can include:

  • Joint pain
  • Joint swelling
  • Reduced ability to move the joint
  • Redness of the skin around a joint
  • Stiffness, especially in the morning
  • Warmth around a joint

     A physical exam may show:

    • Fluid around a joint
    • Warm, red, tender joints
    • Difficulty moving a joint (called “limited range of motion”)

Some types of arthritis may cause joint deformity. This may be a sign of severe, untreated rheumatoid arthritis.

The goal of treatment is to reduce pain, improve function, and prevent further joint damage. Essential oils can reduce inflammation and will provide pain relief but is less proficient at reversing damage if the condition has progressed to the point of destruction of joint structures.

Like most treatable conditions with essential oils, everyone reacts differently. What might be most effective with some, others have found a different blend more effective. What is important is consistency and enduring the trial and error phase as you find an oil or blend that is most efficacious for you.

    DoTERRA Essential Oil Arthritis Treatment:

Apply Deep Blue Rub (see below) to area of concern each morning, at least once mid-day and anytime extreme pain occurs.

Continue above regiment until till symptoms dissipate.

    Details of Oils:

Deep Blue Rub:  It is a blend of some of the most effective analgesics, and anti inflammatory oils that exist. Blue Tansy, Camphor, Helichrysum, Osmanthus, Peppermint and wintergreen to name a few. Wintergreen is an oil often associated with analgesic creams such as icy-hot and Ben-Gay. Primarily because these products use a synthetically produced chemical (methyl salicylate) that originates from wintergreen (gaultheria procumbent) and has proven effective as a warming pain reliever. However by using Deep Blue, you actually experience the product in its natural 100% pure state.

Geranium: Due to its analgesic characteristics it is often used as a topical agent for individuals suffering with arthritis or rheumatism. Geranium stimulates the immune system, aids in poor circulation, is anti-mucolytic, uplifting to the mood and its calming effect on the nervous system is pronounced.

Lemongrass: is for healing ligaments, tendons, and cartilage, it helps with regenerating connective tissue, circulation, repairing ligaments, tissue regeneration, muscles and bones

Marjoram: is for muscles, spasms, rheumatism, sprains, stiff joints, aches, neuralgia, pain, tension—good for muscles and bones

AromaTouch: is great for pain, inflammation, spasms, circulation and healing.

Basil: It is noted as a natural nerve tonic, with the ability to be stimulant and/or restorative depending on the body’s needs

    Exercise programs may include:

    • Low-impact aerobic activity (also called endurance exercise)
    • Range of motion exercises for flexibility
    • Strength training for muscle tone

Physical therapy may be recommended. This might include:

    • Heat or ice
    • Splints or orthotics to support joints and help improve their position; this is often needed for rheumatoid arthritis
    • Water therapy
    • Massage

    Other recommendations:

    • Get plenty of sleep. Sleeping 8 to 10 hours a night and taking naps during the day can help you recover from a flare-up more quickly and may even help prevent flare ups.
    • Avoid staying in one position for too long.
    • Avoid positions or movements that place extra stress on your sore joints.
    • Try stress-reducing activities, such as meditation, yoga, or tai chi.
    • Eat a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables, which contain important vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin E.
    • Eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acides, such as cold water fish (salmon, mackerel, and herring), flaxseed, rapeseed (canola) oil, soybeans, soybean oil, pumpkin seeds, and walnuts.
    • Lose weight, if you are overweight. Weight loss can greatly improve joint pain in the legs and feet.

All Natural Healing Help For Broken Bones

DoTerra Essential Oil Treatment For:

Broken Bones

Broken Bone

Broken or fractured bones can occur anywhere in the body.  They can vary from simple greenstick fracture in a child requiring minimal care to crushing injuries involving multiple bones, tendons, and ligaments with complex displacements requiring intense surgery, plates, screws and months of physical therapy.  There are a number of types of fractures, we list here just a few of the common types:

·  Greenstick Fracture : Bone is not broken completely through the full diameter

·  Transverse Fracture : in this the fracture is at a right angle to the bone’s long axis.

·  Spiral Fracture : in this at least one part of the bone has been twisted.

·  Comminuted Fracture : in this the fracture results in several fragments.

·  Stress Fracture : It is a common overuse injury. It is most often seen in athletes who run and jump on hard surfaces such as runners, ballet dancers and basketball players.

·  Open Fracture : An open fracture is a fracture where the broken bone is exposed. That is dangerous because of increased chances of infection.

Signs that there is a fracture and medical attention should be sought include:

·  severe pain, especially with movement of the limb

·  swelling

·  if there is deformity in the limb or an open wound

·  if there is difficulty in moving the injured limb or numbness and tingling indicating nerve damage.

Essential oils of course cannot reposition or splint a fracture but they can hasten the healing process and reduce the discomfort during healing.

DoTerra Essential Oil Broken Bone Treatment:

Rub 3-4 drops of Deep Blue Oil Blend on injured area as needed for pain.

Topically apply 2-4 drops each of Cypress Oil (circulation), Helichrysum Oil (nerve damage, tissue regeneration), and White Fir (anti-inflammatory) to the injured area 2 to 3 times a day.

**If there is ligament or tendon damage add Lemongrass Oil, if there is muscle damage add Marjoram Oil**

Rub 2-3 drops of  Lavender Oil on bottoms of feet nightly-if possible- to aid in sleep (proper sleep will help the bones heal faster)

Take Life Long Vitality Vitamins daily

My husband broke his toe.  He whimpered and hobbled around for a while and at the end of the day chose to show me his purplish-black swollen ugly toe.  I looked at him and shook my head as I asked why he hadn’t used any of the oils.  He replied, “OH YEAH!  I guess I could do that.”  He applied oils and within an hour remarked at how the pain was gone and how he should have used the oils immediately.  2 days later he ran a 10k without any problems

I am so excited to be able to share this experience with you.  I have the “fire in the belly” feeling now when it comes to the oils,` and I will tell you why.  Three and one-half months ago I fell while exercising and broke my shoulder.  It was not just a “break”, but an avulsion fracture.  That meant that the muscles supporting the shoulder literally pulled the front bony part of the shoulder up (the fracture) from the force of the fall.  Needless to say, I lost the use of my arm within minutes.  After the hospital visit and x-rays, we came home to wait for the orthopedic surgeon to see me…in three days!!

We live in a small town. I was in shock and called my daughter-in-law to come help me know what to do.  I have gluten intolerance, so the gut issues make it hard to take pain meds.  Guess what I had to use?  That’s right ,the oils.  I thought, “This will be a real test.” We applied Balance, then lemongrass, then cypress.  When I say applied, it was like putting salt and pepper on food. Not just one or two drops, but we shook it on. Immediately I felt better.  I began to relax and spent the next few days layering the oils every two to three hours, my arm resting in a sling until the doctor was in.  When I got to the doctor’s office, he looked at the x-ray, came in and explained that he needed to do surgery to put a plate with six screws in to repair the damage so the muscles would reattach properly. I asked him what my other options were?  He said I could wear a sling (the kind you have to wear after surgery) for six weeks.  He would x-ray it every week, and if there was the slightest bit of movement, we then would do surgery.  I opted for that.

I used the oils frequently, according to how they smelled.  If one made me nauseous, I would use another.  I used wintergreen for pain, marjoram for muscle repair, lemongrass for ligaments, cypress for circulation, Balance for grounding and the emotions associated with not being able to use my arm.  I diffused frankincense,  Elevation, and Citrus Bliss to help me be upbeat.  I used Deep Blue for everything it can do.  I bathed in lavender and cypress.  And, the last two weeks I was able to get birch for bone.  The power from that single oil was amazing!  I added a few drops of helichrysum to the Deep Blue for tissue healing.

Every week I had an appointment with the doctor and every week he said next week we may do surgery, up until the fifth week.  At that visit he said, the bone is healed. Let me have your sling. I want you to start physical therapy. He then shook my hand and said I’m really glad we didn’t do surgery.  WOW!  I have my testimony, I have full use of my arm back and I have a fire in the belly about these amazing oils.  I cannot NOT share what I know and experienced and I challenge all of you to prove the oils for your own selves.
